Minutes of the Meeting of Blofield Parish Council
Date: Tuesday 18 February 2025

Councillors Present
The Chair, Vice Chair, and a quorum of elected councillors were present. The Parish Clerk attended as clerk to the meeting. Apologies for absence were received and noted from one councillor.
1. Open Forum — Parishioners' Questions
The Chair opened the meeting with a period for parishioner questions. Several residents attended and raised the following matters:
- Concerns about the condition of the footpath alongside Church Road — the clerk was asked to report the defect to Norfolk County Council Highways
- A query regarding the lighting on the junction near the village green — the clerk confirmed this had been reported previously and would be chased with the relevant authority
- A question about the upcoming planning application for land to the east of the village — councillors noted this would be discussed under agenda item 4
2. Confirmation of Previous Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held on 21 January 2025 were confirmed as a true and accurate record and signed by the Chair.
3. Declarations of Interest
Councillors were invited to declare any pecuniary or personal interests in items on the agenda. Declarations were recorded as appropriate.
4. Planning
The council considered the following planning applications received since the last meeting:

The clerk was instructed to submit the council's responses to Broadland District Council by the consultation deadline.
5. Finance
The clerk presented the schedule of payments for authorisation. The council approved all payments as listed in the schedule, which is available for inspection on request. The current account and reserve balances were noted.
6. Correspondence
The clerk reported on correspondence received since the last meeting, including communications from Norfolk Association of Local Councils, Broadland District Council, and two letters from residents. Items requiring action were assigned to the relevant councillor or clerk.
7. Councillor Reports and Parish Matters
- The village green maintenance schedule for spring was discussed and agreed
- The council agreed to investigate options for improving signage at the village entrances
- The clerk was asked to obtain quotes for repairs to a section of the churchyard boundary wall (noting the council's maintenance responsibilities)
8. Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting of Blofield Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 18 March 2025 at 7:30pm at Blofield Village Hall. All residents are welcome to attend.
